Spine
Our goals are to conduct research that expounds the etiology, process, and optimal treatment of patients with congenital conditions, trauma, and other musculoskeletal conditions through clinical studies and collaborative basic science research. In the realm of basic science, Kenro Kusumi, PhD, has led research efforts entitled “Gene Expression Studies of Early Spinal Development” and uses advanced gene chip microarray technology and bioinformatics for basic orthopaedic research using human cord-blood mesenchymal stem cells and mouse spinal mutant models.
