This report is an up-to-date snapshot of child passenger safety trends including legislation, injury rates, crash characteristics, as see in the PCPS data. For the first time we are including data specific to Latino children in crashes. Real-world crash data in this report is current through December 31, 2006.

PCPS Fact and Trend Report 2005
This first in an annual series of reports provides updated facts and trends about children involved in U.S. motor vehicle crashes from 1999 through 2004. PCPS, the world’s largest study of children in crashes, is a research partnership between The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and State Farm Insurance Companies®.

PCPS CPS Issue Report Spring 2007
PCPS occasionally releases Issue Reports devoted to a pressing issue in child passenger safety. The Spring 2007CPS Issue Report is focused on the effectiveness of state booster seat laws and primary seat belt laws to increase appropriate restraint use among 4 to 8 year-olds and among 13 to 15 year-olds.
PCPS CPS Issue Report 2005
PCPS occasionally releases Issue Reports devoted to a pressing issue in child passenger safety. The 2005 CPS Issue Report is focused on safe seating positions for children in motor vehicles.
PCPS CPS Issue Report 2004
PCPS occasionally releases Issue Reports devoted to a pressing issue in child passenger safety. The 2004 CPS Issue Report is devoted to booster seat use among 4-8 year-olds: a critical population at risk for crash injury due to premature graduation from a child restraint to an adult seatbelt.
PCPS 2003 Interim Report
The 2003 Interim Report features trends observed during the first 5 years of the PCPS study. Findings include data from 1999-2002 on restraint use, seating position, motor vehicle injury risk, and injury risk due to airbag deployment.
PCPS 2002 Interim Report
The 2002 Interim Report focuses on PCPS findings from 2001-2002, including data on inappropriate restraint use, trends in booster seat use, side-impact collisions, pick-up trucks, and “seat belt syndrome” injuries.
Partners for Child Passenger Safety 2001 Interim Report
The 2001 Interim Report is devoted to empowering key audiences (safety educators, health policymakers and advocates, physicians and manufacturers) to lead efforts to improve CPS legislation, education and public awareness about child passenger safety as a major public health issue.
