Internal Advisory Committee
The members of the internal advisory committee meet semiannually to assess the IDDRC and to provide advice on improving the overall functionality of the center and the functionality of the individual cores.
Members of the advisory committee are listed below:
Maja Bucan, PhD
Dr. Bucan is Professor of Genetics, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Bucan's primary research focus is functional genomics and behavioral genetics with a special emphasis on the genetics of cognitive and affective disorders. Dr. Bucan is Committee Chair of the Autism Genetic Resource Exchange of the Cure Autism Now Foundation.
John Detre, MD
Dr. Detre is Associate Director of Neurology and Radiology, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Director of the Center for Functional Neuroimaging at the University of Pennsylvania. His research involves the physiology and pathophysiology of functional activation as well as the clinical applications of functional MRI.
Irwin Levitan, PhD
Dr. Levitan is Professor and Chair of the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and the David J. Mahoney Professor of Neurological Sciences. Dr. Levitan recently served as the Secretary of the Society for Neuroscience. His laboratory is interested in the regulation of the electrical activity of nerve cells.
Brian Strom, MD, MPH
Dr. Strom is the George S. Pepper Professor of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in Biostatistics and Epidemilogy Department at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Director for the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB), Associate Dean and Associate Vice-President for Strategic Integration at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, and Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. Dr. Strom is the author of the major textbook in the field of pharmacoepidemiology.
