Building an Interactive Informatics Educational Module

The Informatics Education Division of the Center for Biomedical Informatics (CBMi) is primarily responsible for proactively educating the Children's Hospital research community in the area of biomedical informatics and its related disciplines. The department is constantly assessing new technologies that can be utilized to more efficiently educate interested professionals.

The department, with the help of students in the highly successful informatics internship program, recently began developing a highly interactive set of modules that address several fundamental areas within biomedical informatics including clinical decision support, electronic medical records, bibliographic retrieval, and biomedical data ontologies. Each module offers a multimedia experience such as educational reading materials, graphical devices, and audio PowerPoint presentations from experts who are renowned in their fields.

The package is currently being developed for future launch to the Hospital community and may become available to the general public shortly thereafter. To learn more about this program or to request notification when these modules are available, please contact Mark Diltz by phone at 267-426-2775 or by e-mail at diltz_AT_email.chop.edu
