Biomedical Informatics Internship Program Off and Running

The Informatics Education Division of the Center for Biomedical Informatics (CBMi) supports an internship program that allows undergraduate and graduate students studying informatics-related fields to experience biomedical informatics within an established, world-class research center. CBMi's combination of academic research and commercial service activities provides a unique learning experience for students. CBMi offers ongoing paid and unpaid internships through its collaborations with Drexel University Temple University, and The University of Sciences in Philadelphia, as well as a growing number of other institutions.

Each student is tasked with at least one project intended to provide an enriching learning experience. The student may work with CBMi staff members on a variety of projects meant to increase awareness and educational capabilities of the center, or may participate in the execution of a research project in collaboration with CBMi's faculty, who represent a highly diverse array of informatics interests. Projects are hand-tailored to the skill sets and interests of students.

The biomedical informatics internship program accepts up to six students per year, depending on individual timeline requirements of the participating academic institutions. If interested in learning more about the program as a student, as a university administrator, or as a researcher, please contact Mark Diltz by phone at 267-426-2775 or by e-mail at diltz_AT_email.chop.edu.
