The Children's Hospital Primary Care Network: Our extensive primary care network of facilities and practices comprises the Hospital itself, located in University City, Philadelphia, and more than 40 healthcare centers throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, including Specialty Care Centers, Primary Care Centers, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and the Kids First pediatric and adolescent primary care practices.
The entirety of the network is detailed here.
Children's Hospital Database Resources:
- EpicCare: EpicCare is an ambulatory computerized medical record in use at many ambulatory sites throughout the Children's Hospital network. It is an online system with a suite of tools to aid clinicians in the delivery of patient care. EpicCare is used for ordering supplies, recording results, charting care, documenting events and logging patient correspondence. It is the primary database from which the data our researchers use is extracted.
- The Primary Care Center Network: This network collects data electronically on over 500,000 office visits and 600,000 telephone calls annually. For example, each year nearly 700,000 immunizations and over 600,000 medications are documented in the electronic health record.
- Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW): The EDW integrates business, administrative, and clinical data centers into a single repository of information.
