The Clinical Reporting Unit (CRU) supports data needs from anywhere in the Children's Hospital community.

The CRU will work in a collaborative and - if necessary - iterative approach that ensures extracted data reliably and accurately meets the requestor's needs.

To initiate a request for data, please e-mail clinicalreports_AT_email.chop.edu, and include a brief description of the data you are looking for and a timeframe for when you need it.

If you are preparing to conduct research using the Primary Care Center network, please first contact James Massey at 267-426-5167, or masseyj_AT_email.chop.edu .

We can provide data in many formats including the standard Microsoft Office file types, PDF files and text files. For mailing lists, we can provide files preformatted for printing (using the label's Avery number).

IRB and HIPAA regulations constrain what data we may provide for research purposes. In addition, the CRU only provides data about patients or encounters for department that has generated the data. For example, Faculty Practice can access information about their patients or encounters, but cannot access the same data from Kids First Haverford unless it is clear that there is a cooperative agreement between the leadership of the practices.
