American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA):
AMIA is the United States' primary informatics organization with the principal goal of advancing the development and implementing healthcare informatics in such diverse disciplines as clinical informatics, public health or population informatics, and translational bioinformatics.
CBMi participates as a member of the AMIA Academic Forum:
The forum provides leadership in the adoption of informatics as an academic discipline and generally promotes communication across academic informatics organizations. In addition, many Children's Hospital healthcare professionals are individual members of AMIA.
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ):
AHRQ funded the development of the Pediatrics Research Consortium (PeRC), the Hospital's practice-based research network (PBRN), and continues to fund PBRN research at Children's Hospital.
In addition, PeRC recently received one of only ten National Practice Based Research Center Master Contractor awards from AHRQ as the only pediatric organization in this select group. This designation allows the PeRC to uniquely bid on AHRQ-funded initiatives.
