American Medical Informatics Association Academic Forum

The Center for Biomedical Informatics (CBMi) recently acceptedAMIA Logo an invitation to join the American Medical Informatics Association's (AMIA) Academic Forum, a formal collection of academic biomedical and health informatics institutions and thought leaders.

The goals of the Academic Forum, as reported on their Web site are:

  • Creating an acknowledged professional home for leaders of academic biomedical and health informatics programs
  • Sharing knowledge and best practices to advance the discipline
  • Communicating as a single voice where appropriate
  • Networking with colleagues who share similar opportunities and challenges

As a charter member, CBMi will help to strengthen the forum, lending its expertise in pediatric medical informatics and its experience with a successful internship program, to develop health informatics into a robust, fully recognized and accredited academic discipline.
