Leadership

Leadership of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute is provided by Philip Johnson, MD, who serves as the director of the CHOP Research Institute, executive vice president for research and chief scientific officer; Mary Tomlinson, vice president of research administration, deputy administrative director; Thomas Curran, PhD, deputy scientific director; and Peter Adamson, MD, director of the Office of Clinical and Translational Research. A number of administrative and scientific directors and managers provide organizational support to the Institute. A Research Operations Committee made up of the Hospital's president and chief executive officer, chief operating officer, chief financial officer, academic departmental chairs and other key Hospital leaders provides direction to the Institute, and the Translational Medicine & Science Committee provides a structure of governance and accountability.
